Mattson, Andrew H. and Anna (Nelson)

transpixel Andrew and Anna Mattson (sitting, front left) and their children. In 1900, Annie was listed as having six living children. Clara is third from left in the front row. Based on comparison with a picture postcard of "Mrs. C. Olson", the woman standing second from left is Mary. Based on the 1900 census, the two men standing are Andrew and Annie's sons, Andrew and Alfred. The youngest son must be Victor, also based on the 1900 census. Victor is known from census data and his WWI draft registration card to have lived with his sister Mary in Washington State. Bob Winberg's address book from 1930-1940 contains addresses all on one page for 1) Mrs. Bjorling (Mary Mattson; her second husband was Eric Bjorling) of Everett, Washington, 2) Victor Mattson, of Monroe Washington, and 3) a Mrs. Thomas Oline, of Tacoma, Washington, who is found listed along with Emily Mattson as the parents of Lawrence Robert Oline, born to them in King County, Washington. The Olines are found in the 1930 census of Tacoma at the same address listed in Bob Winberg's address book. So the woman in back second from right was Emily. That accounts for all six living children. Since Victor was born in 1890, the picture appears to date from around 1900. (Original: Mary Hundeby) transpixel
